As an accountant, auditor, and churchgoer, I always hate to see another report in the news about some type of financial wrongdoing at a church that could possibly ruin lives and maybe even ruin the particular church the wrongdoing was carried out at. Nonetheless, I read the details of the wrongdoing, and am usually saddened to see that the financial wrongdoing could very probably have been avoided if only a few simple procedures had been put in place to prevent the wrongdoing.
